A hundred and sixteen million pounds. Newcastle agree for Toure.

Manchester City announced the signing of Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest for one hundred and sixteen million pounds, making him the most expensive British player ever, CONFIRMED by the club and double-sourced. Newcastle moved for Hoffenheim's Bazoumana Toure, with Fabrizio Romano reporting a fifty million euro package agreed ahead of Liverpool; that one is REPORTED, single source. AC Milan are reported to be weighing a move for Virgil van Dijk as he enters his final contract year at Liverpool. United's window was quiet, a day after Ederson's registration cleared and Rasmus Hojlund's move to Napoli was made permanent.

Update, 7 Jul: this entry originally repeated the previous day's Ederson lead. It has been refiled around the day's own stories, which had been carried here as a footnote.
