Wyndham Clark leads the 2026 BMW Championship at Bellerive Country Club at 12 under par after Friday's second round, per CBS Sports' round-two coverage and ESPN's second-round report, both filed 21 August.
Gary Woodland is second at 11 under from rounds of 64 and 65. J.J. Spaun is third at 10 under. Spaun had a four-shot lead at one point on Friday and gave most of it back with consecutive bogeys at the 14th and 15th.
Woodland's two days are the story of the week so far. He arrived 31st in the FedEx Cup standings, two points off elimination, and 11 under through 36 holes has turned a survival week into a tournament. Only the top 30 after Sunday go to the Tour Championship at East Lake.
Scottie Scheffler started slowly again and then shot 5 under on the back nine for a 65. That puts the world number one at 3 under, seven behind. He won the previous playoff event by eight strokes.
Fifty players started at Bellerive on Thursday, there is no halfway cut, and 20 of them finish their season on Sunday.
