Sabalenka reached the third round at Flushing Meadows by beating Polina Iatcenko 6-1, 6-1 in 53 minutes, per Reuters and the Associated Press. She is the defending champion and the world number one.
The 2026 main draw runs from 30 August to 13 September at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York, per Tennis Majors and the ATP Tour. The women's singles final is on Saturday 12 September and the men's singles final on Sunday 13 September.
Elsewhere in the draw, defending men's champion Carlos Alcaraz beat Jaime Faria 4-6, 6-0, 6-3, 6-2 to reach the third round, and Jessica Pegula beat Sofia Kenin 6-3, 6-1, both per Reuters and the Associated Press.
